From July 26 to July 31, a new edition of the event is installed with renowned creators from Latin America and the world. This year he investigates transmedia narratives, the use of immersive XR technologies (Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality). Conferences, panels, pitch and industry meetings.

Mediamorfosis is the most influential meeting of training, industry and content exhibition linked to the evolution of new media in Latin America. This year, from July 26 to July 31, it is being projected from Chile online and free to all Latin America through mediamorfosis.net FB Live and Youtube.

This year it investigates the use of the new XR (Expanded Reality) narratives and how technology opens new expressive possibilities for the Latin American entertainment world, rethinking how the work matrix of the entire communications and entertainment industry is transformed.

Since 2014, with 23 editions in 11 cities in 9 Latin American countries, it has positioned itself as the most important promotion platform for new talents in the region.

With the premise of presenting the future in storytelling through real cases, told by those who are changing the way of narrating with new technologies, this year talented creators such as Tupac Martir (MX / UK) leader of Satore Studio and Karim Ben Khelifa (Belgium / Tunisia) who has integrated his work as a war photographer with XR technologies to create the multi-award-winning installation “The Enemy”, is announcing his new work “7 Grams”

On the other hand, directors of the most important studios in the world such as Tom Burton, head of Interactivity at BBC Studios; Sharon Clark (UK) Creative Director of Raucous and Eleanor Whitley (UK) Executive Producer Marshmallow Laser Feast.

The main festivals of the world are also present with Liz Rosenthal (UK), VR Programmer of the Venice Festival; Wotienke Vermeer / Yorinde Segal (Netherlands) from IDFA; Mark Atkin (UK) from Electric Dreams and Blake Kammerdiener (USA) from SXSW.

During the meeting, the 10 XR projects of new Latin American talents selected by the jury will be known (among 68 submitted to the Mediamorfosis Contest), they will have one-to-one meetings with world industry leaders and the winner will travel to Amsterdam to participate in the IDFA Festival, there will also be US $ 1,000 and award mentoring for another project.

Among the decision makers of the International Immersive Industry who participate in one-to-one meetings with the contest winners are Antoine Cayrol (Fr) producer and co-founder ATLAS V; Jimmy Cheng (Taiwan) director of content and business operations at Digital Domain; Paul Bouchard (Fr) head of sales and acquisitions at Diversion Cinema; Morgan Bouchet (Fr) director of digital content and XR innovation at Orange; Spencer Hunt (USA) president and executive producer at Lookit; among others.

This year the event includes a billboard of shows of hybrid experiences, 360 and VR of the best Latin American and international projects, which is open to the public freely.

There will be a panel with the highest Latin American references in hybrid narratives that cross disciplines (theater, dance, audiovisual, interactivity), another panel to analyze the present of the activity in the region on Virtual Reality, and finally one with international professionals to analyze the changes in immersive narratives during and post pandemic.

Organized by New Sock and produced by 500 Nanometros, this project is funded by the Support Program for International Encounters of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage of Chile.
