While Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have worked as coaches since the release of the program, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams joined for the first time in the seventh season of the show. And more news! In this edition, Selena Gomez will mentor Gwen Stefani, John Fogerty of Adam Levine, Brad Paisley of Blake Shelton and rapper Missy Elliott of Pharrell Williams. Also, Rihanna will be incorporporated as a counselor of the four judges. Recall that the role of “mentors” is intended to help coaches to guide the best possible way the contestants in their evolution. The innovative format of “The Voice” has four stages: the first begins with blind auditions, then come the combat rounds, followed by battles and finally shows live each participant.
During the blind auditions, coaches’ decisions are based solely on hearing the voice of the participants, without seeing their physical appearance. If the coach is impressed by the artist’s voice, he or she press a button to select the participant to be part of its team.
In the final phase of the competition, in the context of live performances, the best artists from each team will meet each week against each other. The television audience will vote to save their favorite artists, and the two artists with the lowest number of votes will be sent weekly to their respective homes. Finally, only one will receive the honorary title of “The Voice” and will win the grand prize: a recording contract with a record label.
