The Spanish-Argentine co-production Relatos Salvajes landed a total of 8 PLATINO Awards in the second edition of these prizes that recognize the best work in the fim industry in Latin America.

The work of Damian Szifron who started as a maximum favorite with 10 nominations, made good the forecasts and has risen with the Awards for Best Picture, Director, Actress, Screenplay, Music, Sound, Editing and Art Direction.

In the category of Best Actor, the award has gone to Oscar Jaenada for his work on Cantinflas, from Sebastian del Amo. While the feature film from Alberto Rodriguez La Isla Minima (Minimum Island,) has taken the Best Cinematography.

Two Brazilian productions have been imposed in the categories of Best Animated Film and Documentary

For their part, the Venezuelan Spanish La Distancia mas Larga (The longest distance) was the best debut.
