In launching the new season of Project Runway Latin America III, TVMAS held talks with Manuel Cuan, VP of channel marketing trends Turner Broadcasting Systems, where the executive stressed the importance of knowing the audience trends to consolidate signals.
“We are incorporating this season premieres on Channel Glitz* in order to strengthen our programming and seek consolidation of our signal. The three pillars of our channel are style, fashion and cuisine, through this we are feeding it with series and reality shows such as The Carrie Diaries, Master Chef and Runway Project Latin America III, to reach that segment of people looking for new things and want to be entertained,” Said Manuel Cuan.
On the importance of producing in Latin America, remarked: “We seek and explore ideas to create pan-regional contents, although our proposal is based on solid productions, we want to continue in that quest. Project Runaway Latin America III has this great proposal to have some entertainment and reality, delivers you trend and proposals involved in the drama. That makes people connect. Currently we plan to do something in Brazil, but with a look to Latin America.”
Moreover, the executive highlighted the growth of pay TV and channel trends; “There is an evolution in the formats and genres, today Turner’s trend channels are consolidating. Fictionalized reality is novel and presents other type of contents, and this is well received by the audience as by advertisers to reach the desired target. Pay TV as a whole, are part of the development the studios are doing and there’s a lot of content for all tastes and that creates market trends. This makes the viewer do a mixture of productions creating their programming” concluded Cuan.
