In exclusive with TVMAS, the producer of Televisa Jose Alberto Castro speaks about his upcoming projects and the competition products.
Celebrating the success of his production Teresa, which is conquering international markets like the United States, Latin American and other countries in the world, Castro says, “Teresa was in my mind, after several castings the proposal made me by Angelique Boyer caught my attention as a protagonist and Televisa, gave total support to the project”, explains.
The success of Televisa in Mexico and other countries was immediate. “Is the reflection of the communication we Mexicans have with the Latino community in the United States, with Latin America and the rest of the world”.
Speaking about the competition and the elevated Televisa ratings, responds, “we would like for competition to exist here in Mexico, but Azteca has not been able to reach the audience levels of Televisa. Azteca has good writers, producers, directors and artists, but they lack responsibility, depth and continuity. There are things they will learn with time or hiring the right people in key areas.
Speaking about the business globally, says, “we in Mexico are the best. I recognize the Brazilian productions, and their impeccable quality but their product does not have the reflection that we have on an international level. Colombia is making very good original stories, but we have been fortunate to have those stories and to be able to produce them better or bigger. We recognize products as La Reina del Sur which I love, also Eva Luna of Univision. In Argentina they are very creative, although unfortunately fill the screen with many gossip and Showbiz programs”, concluded.
