GMA Brings Trio of Dramas to Myanmar

GMA continues to be the premiere source of Filipino content in Myanmar with the recent premiere of three of its dramas in the country through partnerships built by GMA Network’s content distribution subsidiary, GMA Worldwide, Inc. (GWI) with content distributors in the region.

The One That Got Away

The top-rating series My Korean Jagiya starring Heart Evangelista (Beautiful Strangers, Juan Happy Love Story), and K-Pop artist Alexander Lee recently completed its run on MWD Channel’s primetime, through distributor Dream 99 Media. The series which was shot on location in Seoul and Manila was GMA’s most successful romantic comedy series in 2017.

Romantic drama Once Again will premiere on October 23 on Myanmar’s 5 Plus free-to-air television channel through GWI’s partnership with Family Entertainment. The series stars Janine Gutierrez (Legally Blind) opposite Aljur Abrenica as star-crossed lovers reincarnated to give their love another chance.

Finally, GMA’s award-winning romantic comedy series The One That Got Away premiered on October 19 on Channel 7, the second free-to-air channel of Myanmar’s Forever Group Co., Ltd.  The series bagged a Silver Screen Award in the 2018 US International Film and Video in the dramatic comedy category. It features a powerhouse cast led by Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos and Max Collins. It tackles how modern women handle love, friendship and relationships.
