More than 3.8 millon spectators attained VIACOM in the local cinematographic sector

2018 was successful in the local film industry, for VIACOM and they go to The Oscar’s with “El Angel” through the Telefe brand of Argentina. With eight films they reached more than 3.8 million spectators. (60.13% of all tickets sold by the local cinema and a general market share of 8.8%.) All with directors and filmmakers of the stature of Pablo Trapero, Luis Ortega, Armando Bo and Lorena Muñoz.

The films co-produced by Telefe premiered in 2018 were “El Angel” (the most watched local title of the year), “Animal”, “Re Loca”, “Acusada”, “Perdida”, “La Quietud”, “El Potro” and “Las Grietas de Jara.” Projects that featured outstanding protagonists such as Guillermo Francella, Natalia Oreiro, Mercedes Morán, Lali Esposito, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Martina Gusman, Edgar Ramirez, Diego Torres, Oscar Martinez, Berenice Bejó, Cecilia Roth, Luisana Lopilato and Joaquin Furriel, among many others.

The great directors and filmmakers were Pablo Trapero, Luis Ortega, Armando Bo and Lorena Muñoz. These films had international distribution under the “yes” of the big Hollywood studios and some of them participated in the main film festivals of the world, like Cannes, Venice and Toronto.

“El Angel”, will compete with “Roma” of Alfonso Cuarón, “La Noche de 12 Años” and “Los Perros.” This is the seventh nomination in the category in the last eight years, where Telefe won the award four times.

“This has been an excellent and intense year in our film results. Today the combination of all our Telefe experience with the strength of Viacom each film has more and better resources,” commented Axel Kuschevatzky, Director of Film at Viacom International Studios.
