Hoplite Entertainment and Zumare Studios wager on Co-production

Co-productions are the order of the day. Hoplite Entertainment and Zumare Studios signed a co-production agreement. The first project is Santurce, a dramatic series set in the Caribbean city of Santurce, Puerto Rico.

Marcos Zurinaga from Zumare Studios is the creator / producer. “We are very happy to partner with Hoplite, we see this as a strong beginning for a series of projects that will be developed and produced in Puerto Rico,” said who with Andy Garcia after collaborating on films like The Disappearance of García Lorca and Modigliani. García is the executive producer of Santurce and will direct all the episodes.

Hoplite’s CEO, Jonathan Lee Smith said: “I have Brazilian roots, I’m more than excited to give life to a multicultural series.”

The audience will follow the intertwined stories of five young artists in distress (from Latin America, North America and Europe) who sacrifice everything to express themselves in the face of insurmountable obstacles.

Hoplite Entertainment, an award-winning Emmy production company in Los Angeles, produces diverse content on TV, film, OTT and live, and has cultivated strong ties around the world.

Zumare Studios, with over 30 years of experience in the global industry, director, writer and producer, Marcos Zurinaga with Carlos Zubrzycki created Zumare Studios. A production studio based in Puerto Rico, which develops and produces content for broadcast, emission and theatrical release for international distribution.
