Juan Ramón García Bish, Engineering Manager of Gigared

Within the framework of Regional Meeting of Telecommunications Rosario 2015, directed to cable operators, will be held the HFC architecture seminar in intensive care, where Juan Ramón García Bish, Engineering Manager of Gigared will delve on “… how much life span remains for our networks?”

It is known that cable operations evolved into a new scheme that opened the door to interactivity and enabled data services and internet through which was called HFC as a necessity to increase the bandwidth and simultaneously improve both the quality of the television signal as general system reliability.

The latest version of Docsis, which has been evolving since 1997 completed by Cablelabs at the end of last year (Docsis 3.1), promises speeds that compete with fiber to the home service, but requires profound changes in our network as changing the split and the increase in bandwidth up to 1700 MHz.

In this context, Juan Ramón García Bish, will address the problems of the current situation, focusing on “How low can you upgrade without rebuilding” and “What is the future of a network cable operator against the external content offering through OTT services.”
