He was instrumental in the initial steps of getting HP successfully launched into the digital television business: 1) got product line assorted at Best Buy 2) launched nationwide the first “connected TV” (a television that gets content both via broadcast and broadband, including internet services like CinemaNow).
All his insights into trends around consumer electronics and content distribution via the web, combined with a passion for Latin America, have lead him to start Maximum TV: personalized TV content (from their home country) via the internet, delivered to Hispanics in the US.
Since Jan-Luc came to the US (over ten years ago), he has been actively engaged with the “converging” field of consumer electronics and personal computing, from launching one of the first PC-TV products at Philips (1997), to introducing the MediaSmart TV at HP (2006).
At Compaq Jan-Luc was one of the leading executives for building out a consumer PC business across the various retail channels in all of Latin America, from Mexico upto Argentina.
In the late 90’s Jan-Luc lived and worked in Latin America and build out further the business of Philips consumer audio products. As part of that responsibility, he lead the effort of a cross-regional advertising campaign to re-position the Philips
